In this section I will store all class announcements for the semester.
(5/1) There will be a quiz on Monday covering equivalence relations.
(4/21) Our final
exam has been scheduled for Wednesday May 14, 2:30 - 4:30 in room NC 1316 (note
this is not our
classroom)
(4/13) The exam on Wednesday will cover induction (from Chap. 2),
Chapter 4 (except 4.6 and 4.7) and counting arguments (see class notes,
this is not covered in the text). There will be a required question which
asks for definitions. Responses to these need not be verbatim, but they do
need to be complete, concise and correct.
(4/13) Our final exam has been scheduled for Wed. May 14, 2:30-4:30.
I am trying to verify the room.
(4/8) The quiz tomorrow will be
a counting proof.
(3/31) The third special homework assignment has been posted (see
the homework section).
(3/31) The quiz on Wednesday will be on induction.
(3/31) The combinatorics homework questions and answers can be found
in the handout section.
(3/5) The second special homework assignment has been given (see the
homework section). There will be a review for the first exam on Monday
(exam on Wednesday). The last problem of the homework can be ignored.
(2/27) There will be no quiz next Wednesday
(3/5). Instead, I will collect (for grading) the following problems:

(2/19) Tomorrow's quiz will be similar to the last quiz, you will have to write a statement(s)
in symbolic form.
(2/19) The first special homework assignment has been given,
the first attempt can be made by 2/20. The question can be

(2/11) If you missed the first quiz, you have until class time on
Wednesday to take it on-line (you must have a password to do so).
(2/6) I goofed and there was no quiz in class today. The first quiz
will be given on Monday (2/11) and we will have the second quiz on
Wednesday as planned. Wednesday's quiz will involve writing statements in logical form and
deciding whether or not an argument is valid (see handout section).
(1/29) There will be no quiz this week. Quizzes will start next
week.
