2. Please do the following exercises. This is a minimum recommended dose of exercises. You should work more exercises if you have not mastered the concepts.

3. (Required) Practice problems for percentages.

a. Suppose that your annual salary after taxes is $44,500 and that you are in a 28% tax bracket. What is you annual salary before taxes?

b. Suppose that your annual salary before taxes is $52,500 and that you are in a 28% tax bracket. What is you annual salary after taxes?

c. Complete the following sentence: One mile is _____% larger than one kilometer.

d. Yesterday, the stock market rose 4.5% to close at 8664. Question: What was the value of the stock market at the beginning of the day?
