Math 2000 - Assignment 6

Spring 2001

Due March 1

Do not wait until the last minute to start the assignment! It’s best to get an early start and work on it in several steps. Do not hesitate to ask for help before the assignment is due! Office hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays immediately before and after class in Science 132 or by arrangement. Email also works at wbriggs@math.cudenver.edu.

A. We will now start an investigation of financial matters. Be sure you have read and understand Units 5A and 5B (compound interest and annuities). We will have to skip Unit 5C on loans. If you want to learn more about loans, I will be glad to help you - or you could write a project on the subject!

B. Please do the following problems from the book. Remember to show your work, state all assumptions, and please write clearly!

Unit 5A: 6a, 8, 20, 24a

Unit 5B: 2, 8
