Please read Units 7a and 7B on exponential growth. The primary goals are to be able to distinguish between linear and exponential growth and to know how to compute doubling times.

Then work on the following problems.

Just For Fun

Three guests check in at a hotel and pay $30 for their room. A while later the desk clerk realizes that the room should have cost only $25, so she gives the bellboy $5 to return to the three guests. The bell boy realizes that the $5 can't be divided evenly among the three guests so he takes $2 and gives $1 to each of the guests. It seems that the three guests have now each spent $9 for the room (that makes $27) and the bell boy has $2, for a total of $29. Where is the missing dollar?
