Math 2000
Assignment 7
Fall 2001
Due Wednesday, October 17
Do
not wait until the last minute to start the assignment! It’s best to get an
early start and work on it in several steps. Do not hesitate to ask for help
before the assignment is due! Office hours are on Mondays and Wednesdays
immediately before and after class in Science 132, Tuesdays 11-1:00 in CU 611,
or by arrangement. Email also works at wbriggs@math.cudenver.edu.
1. We will continue to explore the mathematics of finance as presented in Units 4A, 4B, and 4C. Note that parts of Unit 4B (on investment options) and Unit 4C (on home mortgage strategies) are optional, but very useful.
2. Please do the following exercises. This is a minimum recommended dose of exercises. You should work more exercises if you have not mastered the concepts.
Unit 4B: 14, 21.
Unit 4C: 16, 22, 34.
Just for
Fun:

are on a shelf in the normal sequence. Each volume is three inches thick with
eighth-inch covers. A bookworm decides to eat his way from the first page of
the first volume to the last page of the second volume. What distance through
the books must the worm travel?
