2. Please do the following exercises. This is a minimum recommended dose of exercises. You should work more exercises if you have not mastered the concepts.

Unit 3B: 12, 26, 30, 48.

3. (Required) Practice problems for percentages.

a. Suppose that your annual salary after taxes is $34,500 and that you are in a 20% tax bracket. What is you annual salary before taxes?

b. Suppose that your annual salary before taxes is $42,500 and that you are in a 28% tax bracket. What is you annual salary after taxes?

c. Complete the following sentence: One mile is _____% larger than one kilometer.

d. Yesterday, the stock market rose 4.5% to close at 8664. Question: What was the value of the stock market at the beginning of the day?

Just for Fun:

Three boxes are labeled APPLES, ORANGES and APPLES AND ORANGES. Each label is incorrect. Can you select one fruit from one box and determine the correct labels?
