before the assignment is due! Office hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays

A. Please read Unit 4C, Putting Numbers in Perspective. It has a lot of examples that use ideas we have already discussed. If you are not familiar with scientific notation, read the Brief Review on page 201 carefully.
B. Start selecting a topic for your project!
B. Please do the following problems from the book. Remember to show your work, state all assumptions, and please write clearly!
Unit 4C: 6b, 6c, 8b, 8c, 12b, 14c, 14d, 18d, 23b (state all assumptions clearly), 29, 37a, 37b.
Just For Fun:
1. There are five houses in a row, each of a different color, each
inhabited by people of different nationalities with different pets, drinks and
sports.
2. The American lives in the red house.
3. The Spaniard owns a dog.
4. Coffee is drunk in the green house.
5. The Ukrainian drinks tea.
6. The green house is immediately to the right of the white house.
7. The soccer player owns snails.
8. The polo player lives in the yellow house.
9. Milk is drunk in the middle house.
10. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
11. The person who skis lives next to the person with the fox.
12. The polo player lives in the house next to the house where the horse
is kept.
13. The hiker drinks orange juice.
14. The Japanese surfs.
15. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
QUESTIONS: Who drinks water? Who owns the zebra?
