I assume you are reading the sections being covered according to the syllabus schedule.
Homework assignments will be graded and it is worth 50% of your grade. I strongly encourage you to DO THEM. LATE HOMEWORK IS NOT GRADED.
Midterm and final make-ups only with a very strong justification (and prior notification with a week or two in advance).

The lowest score of all homework assignments will be ignored for undergraduate students. Final grades are tentatively based on the following distribution of points:

The scale may be curved down depending on the average performance of the class.
