1999 R.H. Gallagher Young Investigator Award and Medal

Leo Franca was awarded the 1999 R.H. Gallagher Young Investigator Award and Medal in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in the development and analysis of stabilized finite element methods for computational mechanics.

The award is presented by the U.S. Association for Computational Mechanics and sponsored by John Wiley & Sons Ltd. for "outstanding accomplishments in computational mechanics, particularly in the published literature, by a researcher 40 years old or younger."

The award was presented to Leo by Mrs. Gallagher at a banquet during the association's biannual Congress, Thurs., Aug. 5, 1999, 7:00pm, Glenn Miller Ballroom, University Memorial Center, at the Boulder campus.
