These are about policies associated with using the web for teaching (links
to resources are in the general listings).
I have not found any site that addresses faculty rewards for using the
web to teach (or for other scholarly activities).
Suggestions are most welcome.
We are interested in knowing about people and institutions that have
addressed questions like these:
How can we address the use of the web for the following range of
circumstances?
All students are on campus.
Some students are on campus, others are within 100 miles.
Students can be anywhere within a 2-hour time zone.
Students can be time zones that differ by more than 2 hours
(maybe more than 10 hours).
What should be the relationship between distance education and
academic credit in a degree program?
Should faculty be rewarded for developing the use of the web
in their teaching? If so, how?
Should faculty be penalized for abstaining from the use of the web
in their teaching? If so, how?
How can the creative efforts of faculty who use the web for teaching
be shared productively? (This is a question of how to coordinate
faculty at the same university.)
Should innovations using the web for teaching, particularly those that
are published in some archival form, be considered part of a faculty's
research/creative activities?
