Where?
The Department of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences is located at the University of Colorado Denver. The department is on the 6th floor of the CU-Denver Building, 1250 14th St., at the corner of Lawrence and 14th Streets, right across Speer Blvd. from the Auraria campus (directions to the department).
Our department is in the heart of LoDo (short
for Lower Downtown), a thriving, historic part of downtown Denver.
Weather?
As we say in Colorado, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute."
While overall our weather is basically mild,
it can change within minutes. It is not unusual to have a two-day snowstorm that is melted away by string of sunny days in the middle of December. In fact, we typically have more than 300 sunny days a year! However, one should come prepared for any weather situation.

Food?
Naturally, there is a plethora of chain restaurants and coffee shops in the area, including Starbucks, Chipotle, and Subway. However, there are also quite a few locally owned restraunts in walking distance where a hungry grad student (or faculty member) can get a good meal for $10 or less! Here is a short list of some of our favorites:
- The Market coffeeshop and deli (1445 Larimer St.). A great place to study, too!
- New York Burritos (1512 Larimer St.). Delivery available.
- Little India's (1533 Champa St.). All-you-can-eat lunch buffet.
- The Egg Shell (1520 Blake St.). Breakfast and lunch.
- Lim's Chinese Kitchen (1530 Blake St.). Mongolian BBQ.
- Wahoo's (1517 Blake St.). Fish, chicken, beef, and vegetarian burritos, tacos, and bowls.
- Illegal Pete's (1530 16th St.). Burritos, etc.
