CENTER FOR COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS COLLOQUIUM UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AT DENVER TITLE: NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN OPTIMAL CONTROL OF TURBULENCE, COMBUSTION AND MHD SPEAKER: S. S. SRITHARAN. US NAVY-SAN DIEGO, UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AND SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY DATE: Monday, May 1, 1995 PLACE: Math Conference Room - Suite 540 UCD Building, 1250 14th St., Denver TIME: 2:30 pm (Refreshments served at 2:15 pm) ABSTRACT: We will review some of the current developments and future potential of optimal active control of turbulence, combustion and MHD. This subject is currently very actively developed by research groups in universities and Navy laboratories under the funding of ONR, AFOSR and ARPA. Industries are also beginning to get involved. Applications include efficient design aero/hydro vehicles, emission control, heat exchangers, heat rejection devices etc. We will discuss rigorous as well as computational issues.
