Leo Franca organized the CCM colloquium series and Tom Russell handled the Denver portion of the CU-Denver/CU-Boulder Joint Seminars in Computational Math. The list of the talks can be found at the respective web pages, or in Section 9 of the Annual Report.
The Center for Computational Mathematics Series of Reports, coordinated by Leo Franca, has now (as of August 1996) 86 reports, and the collection can be found in hard-copy format in suite 620 of the CU--Denver Building. Some of the reports are available on line and further instructions on how to get copies can be found in its web page.
A highlight of the year was the purchase of the four-processor Silicon Graphics Power Challenge L with a total peak performance of 1.2 Gflops, made possible through an NSF grant together with matching funds from the University. This computer, named Dracula, is now added to the two other servers: Math (a two processor Sun SparCenter 1000 E) and Tiger (a single processor IBM RS/6000 360). These three computers form the Center for Computational Mathematics Network, serving its members, associates and students.
The year ended with Tom Russell steping down as Director to serve as Chair of the Department of Mathematics. Leo Franca has been appointed as the new Director of the Center.
